Classification of California’s 517 basins and sub-basins according to the provisions of California Water Code Section 10933(b). In 2014, California prioritized all of its basins through the California Statewide Groundwater Elevation Monitoring (CASGEM) Program and, in smaller tranches, has subsequently been refining the process in a series of reprioritizations in 2016 and 2018 undertaken as part of SGMA compliance.
